<b>Bio: </b>

Milli Macen-Moore, is an Edible Landscape Consultant and teacher.  She is certified as a Master Gardener, Sustainable Landscape Expert and Neighborhood Coordinator for Grow LA Victory Garden Initiative, through UC Cooperative Extension’s Common Ground Master Gardener Program.  Milli specializes in and teaches bilingual workshops on organic edible landscapes for self-sustainability throughout Los Angeles County.  Her focus is to empower children and adults on how to combat obesity and diabetes by growing, harvesting, and eating more nutritious fruits and vegetables. Milli has developed several organic edible gardening curriculums for different grade levels, including preschool, elementary and junior high school students, and was instrumental in designing the gardening curriculum for the L.A. Sprouts program, in collaboration with USC - Childhood Obesity Research Center. Milli also coordinates one of twenty Grow LA Victory Garden Initiatives in Los Angeles County, where beginning gardeners are taught how to grow successful organic edible gardens at home, school gardens or community gardens.  Milli has been an invited speaker at the 7<sup>th</sup> Congress 50% Food Initiative, American Horticultural Society – National Children &amp; Youth Garden Symposium, Network for a Healthy California – Planting the Seeds of Success for your School or Community Garden and AARP – Grow Your Own Crops in This Tough Economy.  Milli enjoys growing, harvesting and eating what she grows in her urban backyard and sharing her experiences with others.
