Monte Vista Elementary Gets Tagged

At least four different graffiti scrawls were seen Monday on the Monte Vista Elementary School boundary wall along Avenue 54.

The tags were reported by the office of Councilmember Ed Reyes in a routine Monday morning e-mail sent out to various constituents.

Monte Vista Elementary Principal Megan Guerrero did not return a phone call in response to an inquiry from Highland Park-Mount Washington Patch about the graffiti, including how frequently on average the school's walls are tagged.

Monte Vista Elementary is located in an area where graffiti is as common as the city's efforts to clean it up. Last month, a residence near the school got tagged.
