Blog: Improve Lives This Holiday Season

Recycled Resources hosts cold weather clothing drive for those living without homes in our community.

Next Sunday, December 15 from 12-4 p.m., Recycled Resources for the Homeless will be hosting a cold weather clothing drive in order to improve the lives of those living without shelter in North East Los Angeles.  Donations will be accepted at Eagle Rock City Hall. If you are unable to make this date or time you can also drop off donations anytime or request a pick up by contacting us. All donations are tax deductible.

It is during this time of year that we often ask ourselves what we can do for others as we take time to be thankful for what we have. Many of us see homeless individuals living in our neighborhoods, in our parks, or we may pass them on the sidewalks; some of us wonder how we can help. Recycled Resources hosts monthly outreach and engagement events aimed at improving the lives of people without homes in our communities.

Many of us have items in our closets and around our homes that we are not using and this holiday season Recycled Resources asks that you consider donating these items to someone that can. As it gets colder our most sought after items are sleeping bags, blankets, clothing, socks/underwear, and hygiene products in order to keep warm and safe during the cold weather ahead. For many, homelessness is an issue so complex and daunting that we often don't know how to help. Recycled Resources answer is simple, do what you can with what you have.

In the past three years Recycled Resources has improved the lives of many people living without means in Northeast Los Angeles. Those who have supported us have demonstrated compassion for the person sleeping in the park who felt discarded by their family and friends. Supporters did not judge the members of our community who struggle with addiction and they offered support for people who were lacking any type of healthy support system. Recycled Resources works to improve the lives of people struggling in our community and does not judge anyone; instead we offer a hand to help and an ear to listen, linking people with resources already set in place. Your donations enable us to engage those whom have been discarded by others. The gesture of saying hello, the offering a sandwich, bus tokens, or socks demonstrates caring; that's something most people we meet have given up on.

This holiday season please think about joining us and do what you can in order to improve the lives of others who are struggling alone. Thank you.

Church members want peace and quiet in their own homes but the freedom to force religion on others.Read More And, they want the freedom to force noise into other people's homes. Anyone from Divine Saviour want some noise forced into their home like some banging metal pans?

Jesse is fine. He is campaining for Cedilllo. Neither have ran away. Both have appreciated myRead More help in campaining for Cedillo. His eyeliner must have faded away. All that matters is that he will do more than "no way, Jose" has done in 12 years with "do nothing, Ed Reyes." My problem is not with bells, it is with the noise (amplified sound) from Divine Saviour Catholic Church. You need to get your facts straight. Noise is a mental issue. Divine Saviour Catholic Church is the one with a mental issue. They are hypocrites that they want to force noise on others then they themselves want peace and quiet. Get the facts.
