Hmm...Something to think about.

A 6-lane highway bulldozed through the west side of Avenue 64 - a 95% residential neighborhood?! Hundreds of local people WILL lose their homes, those left behind WILL see a drop in value (many seniors) and now WILL NOT be able to sell their homes - if this is implemented. It WILL decimate two popular parks (Good luck kids! Life or limb or lungs crossing to what remains.) This is the time to say NO! and get this choice OFF THE TABLE! STOP the 710 Extension option through this neighborhood! Show up in numbers - this is the beginning of a difficult fight. 7PM for Item 7.

A little disappointed that no one from Mt Wash area showed up. I would figure there would have been more attendees last night. Is that because we no longer have any concerns about the tunnels through Mt Wash? (I don't think so) Anyway, I'm willing to fight for my area, Mt Washington, and also for Highland Park, Garvanza and any place where the 710 extension is attempted. Everyone loses if this goes down. Mt Wash folks, lets get our collective asses in gear, okay?

Write, email, can call LA City Council Members and let them know your disgust with the proposed 710 extension through HP. Send a message to Assemblyman Gil Cedillo - NO on 710 and NO to CD 1. Gil Cedillo is running for the soon-to-be vacant seat of Councilman Ed Reyes. Mr. Cedillo does it make sense to meander through several communities to extend the 710 just because the state has not been able to win the direct route through affluent communities? Mr. Cedillo who do you represent? We need everyone to say, "NO on 710 and No to Mr.Cedillo for CD 1."
