Weekend Crime Blotter: Property Crimes Dominate

Police respond to nine crimes, seven of which were related to some sort of theft.

Nine crimes were reported to the Los Angeles Police department between Friday, April 20, through Monday, April 23, according to the data tracking website crimemapping.com. The majority were property crimes, with two vehicles reported to be stolen and three reported to be burglarized.

Two home burglaries were also reported over the weekend.

The violent crime front was quiet, with police responding to only one assault over the weekend, which was a spousal abuse incident reported on Aldama Street.

Friday, April 20

A burglary from a motor vehicle was reported at around 8:20 a.m. near the 5900 Block of Benner Street.

Saturday, April 21

An attempted robbery was reported at 7:40 a.m. near the 5400 block of York Boulevard.

Police were called to the 5400 block of Monterey Road at 11:55 a.m. to take a report about a burglary from an unlocked vehicle.

Officers went to a home on the 6100 block of Aldama Street at 3 p.m. to respond to a report of spousal abuse.

Sunday, April 22

Police were called to the 5700 block of Fayette Avenue at 2 a.m. to take the report that a vehicle was stolen.

A petty theft from a motor vehicle parked near the 400 Block of North Avenue 51 was reported at 1 p.m.

A home located near the 300 block of North Avenue 57 was reported burglarized at 4:50 p.m.

Officers were called to the 100 Block of North Avenue 66 at 11 p.m. by a resident who reported that a motor vehicle was stolen.

Monday, April 23

Police at 11:35 a.m. took a report of a burglary from a motor vehicle that was parked near the 5500 block of Monterey Road.
