Crime Blotter: Jan. 1

Homicide, robbery, theft and a pair of assaults happened in the area during the last week.

LAPD officers responded to 21 incidents between Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Monday, Jan. 2 that occurred in Highland Park, according to data provided by CrimeMapping.com.

HOMICIDE

ASSAULT

Two assaults with deadly weapon occurrences took place. The first was reported on Wednesday, Dec.28, at 5 p.m. on the 4600 block of Woodside Drive. A second incident was reported near 200 S. Ave 59 at 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec.30.

VEHICLE THEFTS

Five vehicles were reported stolen during the past week. The first incident occurred at 3300 Paola Avenue on Wednesday, Dec.28, at 5 p.m. The second was reported stolen the following day at 10 p.m. on the 100 block of Roselawn place. Two vehicles were stolen during the evening on Friday, Dec. 30, on York Blvd. and Almont St, while an additional theft happened just past midnight New Year’s Eve at 100 Hamlet St.

BURGLARY/THEFTS

Officers were dispatched to a petty theft (cash and valuables are $950 or less) at 5000 Novgorod St. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 8 p.m. Two petty thefts and two burglaries from vehicles occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 28. An attempted theft took place the following day at 7300 N. Figueroa St. at 6:10 p.m. A pair of burglaries were reported on Saturday, Dec. 31. The first occurred at 3:30 a.m. near 200 S. Ave 59 and the second was reported at 5100 Baltimore St. at 8:30 a.m.

ROBBERY

On Thursday, Dec.29, a robbery was reported at 1:20 a.m. The incident happened on the 100 block of French Ave.
