Blog: Rebecca Prine for Person of the Year

A nominee who really impacts Highland Park.

I have a candidate that I would like to nominate for Patch's People of the Year recognition.

Rebecca Prine: Recycled Resources for the Homeless

Rebecca thoroughly understands the services and strategies needed to address issues surrounding Highland Park’s homeless population.

She operates her organization on very little funding but is successfully able to distribute toiletries and food every month all over Northeast Los Angeles.

She’s coordinated various successful drives and events, including a most notable recent event with over 80 youth volunteers  from both Temple Beth Israel and All Saints Episcopal Church.  She greets and thanks her volunteers personally and her passion for her work is evident when she educates people on the needs of the homeless in the area and the solutions that would best impact the community and the homeless population at large.

I don’t know Rebecca personally, but I've seen her work and I am genuinely grateful for her contribution to our neighborhood.

Church members want peace and quiet in their own homes but the freedom to force religion on others.Read More And, they want the freedom to force noise into other people's homes. Anyone from Divine Saviour want some noise forced into their home like some banging metal pans?

Jesse is fine. He is campaining for Cedilllo. Neither have ran away. Both have appreciated myRead More help in campaining for Cedillo. His eyeliner must have faded away. All that matters is that he will do more than "no way, Jose" has done in 12 years with "do nothing, Ed Reyes." My problem is not with bells, it is with the noise (amplified sound) from Divine Saviour Catholic Church. You need to get your facts straight. Noise is a mental issue. Divine Saviour Catholic Church is the one with a mental issue. They are hypocrites that they want to force noise on others then they themselves want peace and quiet. Get the facts.
