'Spider-Man' Filming Won't Stifle Gallery Night

The filming for the new Spider-Man will be completed by 3 p.m. today.

York Boulevard will remain closed until 3 p.m. on Saturday as the neigborhood is transformed into the set for a new The Amazing Spider-Man movie.

Shops along the boulevard had their storefronts transformed into video rental stores and organic markets on Saturday to prepare for the filming of the new Spider-Man flick, which is currently hiding under the fake title Fiona's Tale.

Starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday night, the boulevard will be closed from Ave. 49 to Ave. 51; motorists are being told to use Lincoln and Meridian as alternate routes.

Cathi Milligan, who owns the and directs Second Saturday Gallery Night, said tonight's art stroll will not be affected by the filming.

"They promised to be out of here by 3 p.m. on Saturday," Milligan said. "Gallery Night is happening as usual."
