Tickets Available for Highland Park's Second Art Soup Fundraiser

This month's micro-grant competition will be held on Sunday, February 26.

Last month, NELA art's first Art Soup night was among the hottest tickets in town.

Nearly 50 locals filled Ba Restaurant on 5100 York Boulevard to sample soup prepared by chef James Graham and cast their vote for their favorite of four artistic presenters.

The artist to earn the most votes--last month is was Jolino Beserra--took home the admission fees. Last month's prize pot was $440.

Those who missed out on last month's exclusive event now have the opportunity to reserve a space in the second Art Soup night, to be held on Sunday, February 26 at 7 p.m. at on 5215 York Blvd.

Tickets can be purchased at the Glass Studio at 5052 York Blvd. for $10, which buys a soup and sandwich catered by and a vote for one of the four presenters.

January's Art Soup even sold out in five days, according to co-organizer Janet Dodson.

This month's presenters include World Sounds, a reality TV travel show about world music;  McGroarty Music Summer School,  an 8-week summer music course for elementary age students; A Project for Disastrous Success,  a performance piece that explores cause-and effect and the processes of observation and reaction and Artists for Action,  a project through which “Artivists” present positive and peaceful approaches toward resolving cultural tension.
