Little Hipsters is a new series of paintings by Michael White based on real people seen around LA.  Michael has been painting unusual characters that mainly live in the shadows, under big tops and on the fringes for the last few years.  With this series, Michael has discovered a new breed of character living out in the open on the streets and in the coolest coffee shops, bars & neighborhoods.

Hipsters (from the Urban Dictionary) are a subculture of men and women typically in their 20's and 30's that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence, and witty banter.  

Come to the ultra hip York Blvd to see the Little Hipsters at Platform (a multi-purpose concept space offering an art gallery, retail environment and studio) during the NELAart Organization's Second Saturday Gallery Night Art Walk.  The Little Hipsters show will also have a photo booth where you can become a Little Hipster!
