Urban Rancho to Shine on Saturday

Clear skies are expected for Saturday's Urban Rancho

With Saturday's forecast calling for clear and sunny skies, Highland Park's second Urban Rancho event is set to shine on Saturday.

The event, which was originally scheduled Saturday, Jan. 21, had been postponed due to heavy rains.

Saturday's forecast, according to Accuweather.com, calls for clear skies and temperature in the 70s.

This year's workshops are set to include food crafting with master preservers, home remedies and botanicals, greywater systems, home brewing, urban livestock keeping, square-foot gardening, fruit tree care and pruning, rainwater harvesting, small plant propagation and botany 101 for kids.

There will also be arts and crafts tables and more than 30 informational booths.

The even will take place from 12-4 p.m. at the Lummis Home, located in Montecito Heights at 200 E. Ave. 43. Donations are welcomed, and will got toward the preservation of the Lummis Home and gardens.
