Los Angeles-based artist Michael White has been drawing characters for a long time, searching the fringes of society for oddities he can recapture in his artwork.
His latest oddities, though, can be seen walking around in broad daylight on the streets of Silverlake, Echo Park and Highland Park: hipsters.
Little Hipsters, White's artistic study of the ever fashionable and often divisive sub-culture, will debut at Platform Gallery on Sept. 8 during NELAart's Second Saturday Gallery Night.
According to White's artist statement, Little Hipsters is "based on real people seen around LA" and focuses on a "new breed of character living in the open on the streets and in the coolest coffee shops, bars and neighborhoods."

Little Hipsters will debut on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 from 6:30-10:30 p.m. at Platform Gallery at 5027 York Boulevard.
