LAUSD Seeks Volunteers For 2014 Academic Decathlon
Volunteers are needed for both Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 competitions taking place at the Edward Roybal Learning Center.
The 2014 Los Angeles Unified School District Academic Decathlon needs your help with judges, proctors, assistants and general volunteers. The annual competition brings the best and brightest high school students to compete in speeches, interviews and a culminating Super Quiz.
The two day event takes place Jan. 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Feb. 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Edward Roybal Learning Center. More than 500 students from 58 LAUSD high schools competed last year with Granada Hills High School taking its third win. Franklin High School won first place for the Online National Championships.
Volunteers are advised to bring a watch, reading material and comfortable shoes. Complimentary continental breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided. Applications are available here.
