Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 11

Support Franklin High School hoops, be artistic, view an exhibit or get in a good workout.

1. Let your inner artist loose. An art workshop for students in grades five through 12 will take place at the Arroyo Seco Library. The workshop begins at 4 p.m. and is taught by an instructor from the Los Angeles County of Museum Art. All supplies will be provided.

2. The Franklin High School varsity boys basketball team will try to bounce back from a 66-64 loss at Wilson High School on Wednesday when they take on Eagle Rock High School in the Panthers final league contest. The Eagles squeaked by Franklin, 62-56 in the last meeting between these two teams. Franklin’s varsity girls basketball team also matches up against Eagle Rock on the road. Both games are scheduled to tip off at 5:30 p.m.

3. If you haven’t had the opportunity to make your way over to Heritage Square Museum to visit the William Perry exhibit, you’re in luck! The exhibition has been extended by one month. William Hayes Perry: Pioneer, Entrepreneur and Family Man gives you an inside look into the life of the first owner of the Perry Mansion and his family. The exhibition is viewable Friday through Sunday, until March 27.
