Before and After: Volunteers Revitalize Historic Home

The nearly century-old home was in dire need of a paint job.

Volunteers for the Paint the Town Project worked throughout Friday and Saturday to revitalize this 1924 Victorian Vernacular home on 141 S. Ave. 53.

Check back later today to learn how the effort came together.

Thanks to Paint the Town and Jo O'Kea for making this opportunity a success. It was only for a few days of prep and paint but it has a longer term reward not only for the home owner but for the whole street, neighborood and outlying community. I will definitely be nominating this house for a Highland Park Heritage Trust award when the time comes.
