1. Gil Cedillo Listening Tour
Councilmember Gil Cedillo is scheduled to host a Listening Tour in the neighborhoods of Cypress Park and Glassell Park today, Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Among the topics for brainstorming: public safety, economic development, arts and culture, clean streets, environment. The event will be held at Aragon Elementary School, located in Mount Washington at 1118 Aragon Ave., 90065.
2. Neighborhood Council Alliance of River Communities
Mark your calendars: The Neighborhood Council Alliance of River Communities, which represents 14 regional neighborhood councils actively concerned about the betterment of the Los Angeles River and the Arroyo Seco, is scheduled to conduct its monthly meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Glassell Park Community and Senior Center, located at 3750 N. Verdugo Rd, 90065. Among the issues on the agenda are L.A. River jogging path signage, urban bee keeping and support for the ban on single-use plastic bags.
