Aldama Harvest Festival, Lummis Dinner Parties

1. Aldama Elementary Harvest Festival

Mark your calendars: Aldama Elementary School is scheduled to host its 2nd Annual Harvest Festival from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. The community is invited to join students, parents and school staff for a variety of games (costing just 50 cents each—or $13 for an Ultimate Play Pass) and arts and crafts. A haunted house and delicious treats are other attractions. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of school supplies. Aldama is located at 632 N. Ave. 50.

Mark your calendars: On Sunday, Oct. 27, a monthly members-only meeting is scheduled at El Alisal, the well-known Lummis Home on the west bank of the Arroyo Seco in northeast Los Angeles. Researcher and Historian, Dennis Harbach, will be speaking about Charles F. Lummis' dinner parties and the guests who attended them. Wine and cheese will be served. Contributions of food will be most welcome. Doors open at 4:30pm. 200 E. Ave. 43, 90031.
