Dear Parent/Guardian,

It is with a heavy heart that I relay this message to you. Our crossing guard, Mr. Alex Liu, who collapsed on the morning of January 9th has passed away. We are saddened by the news and offer our condolences to the family. It is comforting to know that during his fight to recover, Mr. Liu had the opportunity to be with his family because of the efforts of our parents and staff members. For that, we are grateful. Nevertheless, the school community mourns his loss.

I will be making an announcement to the student body during our morning assembly on Monday. It would be most supportive to speak with your child prior to that announcement to help work through any feelings of loss or grief they may experience. As always, if grief or trauma services are necessary to support the students, please contact the office and arrangements will be made.

Thank you for your continued support.
