Birthday August 27
With the exception of four years of college in Virginia and a two-year stint at a television station in Arizona, Nicole Mooradian has lived in the South Bay all her life. She graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., with a degree in journalism and sociology. While in school, she interned for The Press-Telegram in Long Beach, Calif., and WCAU-TV in Philadelphia. Since then, she's worked as an online news editor at KPHO-TV in Phoenix, where she received two Emmy Awards as part of an investigative team, and as a researcher for The Los Angeles Times.
Nicole is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Online News Association.
Your Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.
Politics
How would you describe your political beliefs? Are you registered with a certain party?
My political beliefs are hard to pin down. I tend to be socially liberal and a little bit of a treehugger; however, I like to look at all sides of the issue before making a decision. I'm registered as a nonpartisan.
Religion
How religious would you consider yourself?
I was baptized in the Armenian Apostolic Church, but otherwise, I'm not religious at all.
Local Hot-Button Issues
What do you think are the most important issues facing the community? Where do you stand on each of these issues?
Education is always an important issue, no matter what community you're in. Redondo is also making an effort to become a more environmentally sustainable community. I don't believe in budget cuts for education, and I'm definitely in favor of more sustainable environmental practices. Still, I don't like to think in absolutes, and my views tend to change as I find out more about a specific issue.

Nicole,
Thank you so much for attending Peggy's Candlelight Vigil this evening. It is important that people know that Peggy was a great woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be loved and remembered always.
Thank you,
