Farmers' Market, Listening Tour, Alliance of River Communities

Highland Park's weekly Farmers' Market is scheduled on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Avenue 57 and Marmion Way, adjacent to the Metro Gold Line. This is a special kind of market: Proceeds go to the North Figueroa Association, a nonprofit group that will use the money for the security, cleanliness and improvement of the North Fig corridor and community. And this month, for the whole of October, Mardy's Munchies, the Montecito Heights bakery, will be donating 10 percent of all its proceeds from sales at the farmers' market to Aldama Elementary School. 2. Food Truck Feast
Highland Park’s weekly food truck feast unfolds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the parking lot in front of the former Figueroa Produce building, located at 6312 N. Figueroa St. Food trucks from across Los Angeles are expected to be there until 9 p.m. Stay tuned for details.

Councilmember Gil Cedillo is scheduled to host the next leg of his ongoing Listening Tour in Council District 1, this time for the neighborhoods of Cypress Park and Glassell Park. The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Aragon Elementary School, located in Mount Washington at 1118 Aragon Ave., 90065.
4. Neighborhood Council Alliance of River Communities
The Neighborhood Council Alliance of River Communities, which represents 14 regional neighborhood councils actively concerned about the betterment of the Los Angeles River and the Arroyo Seco, is scheduled to conduct its monthly meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Glassell Park Community and Senior Center, located at 3750 N. Verdugo Rd, 90065.
