1. Highland Park Old L.A. Certified Farmers Market & Outdoor Fair

Highland Park's weekly Farmers Market is scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Avenue 57 and Marmion Way, adjacent to the Metro Gold Line. This is a special kind of market: Proceeds go to the North Figueroa Association, a nonprofit group that will use the money for the security, cleanliness and improvement of the North Fig corridor and community. Questions? 2. Food Truck Feast

Highland Park’s weekly food truck feast unfolds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the parking lot in front of the former Figueroa Produce building, located at 6312 N. Figueroa St., near the York Boulevard intersection. Food trucks from across Los Angeles are expected to be there until 9 p.m. Stay tuned for details.

3. Celebrate historic preservation

Ebell Club, located on 131 S. Ave. 57, is scheduled to host a welcome reception for the recently opened Los Angeles office of the National Trust for Historic Preservation on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. To attend, RSVP by the end of business today, Monday, by emailing info@hpht.org. 

4. Late Night Holiday Shopping and Knitting

Pop-Hop Books & Prints, the cozy, eclectic studio that encourages you to shop small, shop local right next to Café de Leche on 5002 York Blvd., will remain open late on the night of Thursday, Dec. 19, to help you with gift ideas from its seasonal specials and selection of books. Your last-minute holiday knitting needs, if any, will also be taken care of. There will be treats.
