WATCH: 9-Year-Old LAPD-Trained Boxer in Action

Irving Garcia gives a riveting display of his punching skills at Thursday's Senior Lead Officer Summit.

Business Law Enforcement Northeast Division, whose president, LaDell Stapp, lives in Eagle Rock, has been engaged in some of the most effective youth programs in Northeast L.A. since 1972. By far the most popular of these is the Police Activities League Boxing Program, under which children aged 17 years or below learn how to box.

On Thursday evening, during the Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Division's annual Senior Lead Officers Summit, a nine-year-old boxer from Cypress Park named Irving Garcia gave a superb performance of his boxing skills.

His speed, grace and enthusiasm come through strongly in the attached video. We hope you enjoy it.
