Volunteers Needed for Yard Sale for Mount Washington Elementary

The 17th bi-annual Yard Sale to Benefit Mount Washington Elementary School will be held on Saturday, November 5.

For 17 years, members of the Mount Washington community have gathered in the parking lot of to donate or purchase lightly used items for the benefit of .

That tradition will continue this year when on Saturuday, Nov. 5, the 17th bi-annual Friends of Mount Washington School Flea Market (FOMWS) is held.

Community members are asked to donate lightly used items that can be sold at the event. Books, records, clothes, appliances, sporting goods, car accessories, bicycles, lawn and garden equipment, office supplies, jewelry, lamps, dishes, furniture, building materials and "the kitchen sink" are among the items sought, according to FOMWS member Nina Zippay.

The flea market will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of Superior Grocers, located at the intersection of Ave. 45 and N. Figueroa St.

Those wanting to drop off items are encouraged to do so at Superior between 7-10 a.m. on the day of the event. Items can also be dropped off at Mount Washington Elementary on the Friday preceding the flea market.
