Letter to the Editor: Aldama Elementary Wants Your Used Books

Those with used books to spare are asked to support Aldama's upcoming book fair.

This letter was submitted by Aldama PTA member Monica Alcaraz.

The Aldama Elementary PTA will be having a Used Book Fair on Thursday, May 24, and is asking the community to donate their used books. We are looking for both children and adult tittles, fiction and non-fiction, paperback and hardcover, and in English and Spanish.

The PTA will be accepting book donation starting May 1 and will collect books until May 17.  Book donations can be dropped off in the book drop box located in the lobby of the school's main office.  is located at 632 N. Ave. 50, Los Angeles, CA 90042.

The benefits of the Aldama Used Book Sale are three fold, it will provide affordable literature for readers of all ages, it will raise funds for our school and much need school supplies and it will help the environment by recycling these books and keeping them out of landfills.

The Used Book Sale will be held on Aldama Elementary's front lawn on Thursday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  For more information please contact Mary Hetherington at hello2exercise@gmail.com.

Church members want peace and quiet in their own homes but the freedom to force religion on others.Read More And, they want the freedom to force noise into other people's homes. Anyone from Divine Saviour want some noise forced into their home like some banging metal pans?

Jesse is fine. He is campaining for Cedilllo. Neither have ran away. Both have appreciated myRead More help in campaining for Cedillo. His eyeliner must have faded away. All that matters is that he will do more than "no way, Jose" has done in 12 years with "do nothing, Ed Reyes." My problem is not with bells, it is with the noise (amplified sound) from Divine Saviour Catholic Church. You need to get your facts straight. Noise is a mental issue. Divine Saviour Catholic Church is the one with a mental issue. They are hypocrites that they want to force noise on others then they themselves want peace and quiet. Get the facts.
