Franklin Dream Project Hosts Pink Walk Friday

Friday's walk will raise money for Busted Foundation and the Elizabeth House Foundation.

On Friday, March 15, Benjamin Franklin High School's Dream Project will host their fifth annual Pink Walk for "breast cancer awareness and women empowerment."

From 3-6 p.m., students who have gathered sponsors will walk around the Franklin High School track to raise money for the Busted Foundation and the Elizabeth House Foundation.

"The idea is very simple. Akin to the large-scale “AIDS Walk” held in New York, San Francisco, Wisconsin, and Los Angeles, participants of the walk will receive a sponsor paper prior March 15," said Franklin student Jenny Huang. "These participants will ask teachers, coworkers, friends and family to pledge an amount of money to be donated for each lap the participants intend to complete during the walk. Finally, when the day arrives, the walkers will roll up their sleeves and begin their two-hour walk (or run) around the track."
