According to the California DOE, 74 percent of Franklin's 10th grade students passed the math portion of the test, while 71 percent passed the English-language arts test.

Overall, DOE's results show that 75 percent of LAUSD 10th grade students passed both the Math and English portion of the test.

All public high school students are required to first take the exam during their sophomore year. If they don’t pass, there are two more chances during junior year and then three to five more opportunities for seniors.
