York Park Planning Workshop on Thursday

In the second in a planned series of meetings attendees get to work on design details.

The office of Councilmember José Huizar and the Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks are scheduled to hold the second in a planned series of workshops aimed at designing York Park, the latest addition to L.A.’s so-called “50 Parks Initiative,” located on a quarter-acre piece of vacant land on the corner of York Boulevard and Avenue 50, near the border of Highland Park and Eagle Rock.

The workshop will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Buchanan Elementary School 5024 Buchanan St. This will be an occasion for community members to view design drafts created by community members at the first workshop last month at Burbank Middle School. Attendees will be able to “flesh out the designs and begin to work on the smaller design details of the park,” according to the Council District 14 weekly newsletter.
