VIDEO: Actress Salma Hayek Gives Eric Garcetti Another Thumbs Up

The Mexican-born actress says the mayoral candidate can overcome any problem and bring people together.

“Eric Garcetti is one of those people that think that anything is possible," says actress Salma Hayek in a video released Thursday.

That's the apparent moral of the story she spends much of the video telling.

Garcetti finds her lost wallet in a "desert of snow" near the North Pole about decade ago.

The two traveled together as part of a group learning more about the issues Inuits faced.

Hayek also says Garcetti will bring people together and points to the "amazing transformation" he has worked in Hollywood.

Earlier this week the Garcetti campaign released two other videos featuring Hayak, one in English, another in Spanish.

In those videos, Hayek praised Garcetti's dancing, gardening, linguistic skills--and vouched for him despite his political ambitions.

The Garcetti campaign pushed Hollywood endorsements hard this week and released a full list of entertainment indusry endorsers.

You can see that here.

Jimmy Kimmel, Will Ferrell and Moby will also headline a benefit for Garcetti next Thursday at the Ford Theater in Hollywood.

DJs Myles Hendrik, Ana Calderon, Timothy Norwind (of OK Go) and Chris Holmes will also be mixing.

As we noted in an earlier piece, Garcetti has some Hollywood catching up to do.

City Controller Wendy Greuel, his main competition in the race, has already snagged some very significant endorsements from Hollywood types.

Greuel worked for a number of years as an executive at Dreamworks Entertainment.

If that is true, then why didn't he do that when he was in office the last 12 years?
