Urgent: Are You The Only One on Your Block Without Power?

If so, the LADWP wants to hear from you.

In its efforts to restore power to all its customers over the next 10-12 hours, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has issued an appeal to all those who do not yet have power—but whose neighbors do—to contact the department immediately.

In a communiqué that the LADWP sent out at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, the department said that it is in the final stages of restoring power to customers who lost it during the windstorms on or after Wednesday night. A very small number of “powerless” customers—about 1,000—may be difficult for the department to identify because they happen to live on a block where power has been restored to everybody but them.

Because such individuals may not be identified on the LADWP’s “outage management system” the utility asks that they contact the LADWP by phone or text right away.
