Today: Public Forum at Oxy on Colorado Boulevard Bike Lanes

Make your voice heard about how the City of Los Angeles Bike Plan might impact Eagle Rock.

Opponents of a plan to install a bicycle lanes on Colorado Boulevard and North Figueroa Street while removing one vehicle traveling lane have for weeks demanded another forum to voice their objections to the plan. Tonight (Wednesday, March 26) they--and the community at large--will have their chance to do so at 7 p.m. in Occidental College's Mosher 1 auditorium.

Representatives of the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and Department of City Planning are scheduled to discuss the proposed lanes and their impact on the community at the meeting.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the meeting and make their views about bike lanes on Colorado and Figueroa known to the two city departments.

The ERNC, which postponed the vote to accommodate public input about bike lanes in its discussions, is likely to take up the issue again on April 2 at the monthly meeting of its board at Eagle Rock City Hall. (The ERNC generally meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m., except on public holidays.)

The Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council will also invite LADOT staff to their meeting on Thursday, April 4 to discuss proposed bicycle lanes on North Figueroa Street.
