'Shop Highland Park Discount Day?' Attend Tonight's HHPNC Meeting to Find Out More

Developing a program to encourage local shopping is among two-dozen items on the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council's agenda.

Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council is scheduled to meet tonight, Thursday, Nov. 7, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Highland Park Adult Senior Citizen Center, located at 6152 N. Figueroa St. The meeting is open to the public and Highland Park residents are particularly encouraged to attend.

(15 minutes) Motion that the current Ad-Hoc committee to resolve concerns with the HHPNC police cameras be made into a standing Public Safety Committee and that its proposed duties (handout) be added to the HHPNC bylaws in Article 8 Committees and Their Duties, Section 1 as Paragraph E. 7. (5 min) Motion to approve the purchase of 1000 balloons w/HHPNC name and logo. The amount not to exceed $300.00. (T.Bonsell).

8. (5 min) Motion to approve the purchase of the helium tank refill (this amount will cover 2 refills). The amount not to exceed $200.00. (T.Bonsell).

9. (5 min) Motion to approve the purchase of 1,000 ecofriendly reusable tote bags. The amount not to exceed $1,020. (T.Bonsell).

10. (5 min) Motion to approve the purchase of a 6ft x 3ft banner to promote the HHPNC meeting dates and place. The amount not to exceed $200. (T.Bonsell).

11. (5 min) Motion to approve the purchase of 2500 full color magnets. The amount not to exceed $1400.00. (T.Bonsell).

22. (5 minutes) Motion to approve and submit the proposed Election Procedure Stipulation Worksheet to the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment. (H. Huezo) 

23. (5 minutes) Motion to approve and submit the proposed letter to the Army Corp of Engineers in support of Alternative 20 of the Los Angeles River Habitat Restoration Feasibility Study. (H. Huezo).

24. (5 min) Motion to approve the HHPNC hosting a Pet Adoption day. (A.Salcido).

25. (10 minutes). Introduction of UCLA team performing demographic study of Highland Park. (F. Villa).
