Neighborhod Council to Discuss Liquor Licenses, Finance and Southwest Museum Tonight

The Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council will meet on Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m. at the Highland Park Senior Citizens Center.

The is scheduled to meet this evening at 7 p.m. at the on 6152 N. Figueroa St.

Finances

Items 5 and 6 on the agenda address the HHPNC's finances.

Item 5 deals with the the discussion and approval of the council's 2011-12 operating budget. Treasurer Mark Reback will provide a draft copy of the budget for the council's perusal.

Item 6 calls for the board to discuss approve purchasing card statements for the entire 2010-2011 fiscal year.

Liquor License for BA, Proposed Rustic French Restaurant on York Boulevard 

The council will vote on a draft letter approved on Tuesday by the land use committee, stating their support for chef James Graham's effort to secure a conditional use permit that will allow him to serve beer and wine with food until 2 a.m. at BA, the rustic French restaurant he plans to open at the corner of York Boulevard and Avenue 51.

A public hearing on the issue was held on Wednesday at the Los Angeles City hall before associate planner Maya Zaitzevsky. Southwest Museum

The council will vote on a motion by Chairman Chris Smith to send a letter to Councilmen Ed Reyes José Huizar, supporting their efforts in favor of the in Mount Washington.

Toy Guns

The council will vote on a motion by member Stan Moore requesting to write a letter to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and members of the Los Angeles City Council, advocating the passage of a City ordinance, proposed by Chief Beck of the LAPD, prohibiting the sale of replica toy guns, which are not colored to be easily identified as replica guns and not real ones.

Proposed Football Field

The council will vote a motion to approve a community impact statement registering the their disapproval with the proposed construction of a football field on city land with public funds.
