Huizar Kicks Off Reelection Campaign

Hundreds show up for the embattled councilmember's downtown fundraiser.

Councilmember José Huizar launched his 2015 reelection campaign with a fundraiser Wednesday, hours after City Council President Herb Wesson and Councilmember Nury Martinez called for a "thorough review" of the city's ethics, harassment and workplace violence training procedures in the wake of a sex scandal surrounding the Boyle Heights native.

Wesson was a special guest at the event, held at the Spring Street nightclub Exchange L.A. and attended by hundreds of people, according to a report in L.A. Downtown News.
