How to Recycle—or Dispose Off—Your Christmas Tree

Click here to pick from any of three options.

All good things come to an end. The Christmas tree in your living room that brought such joy to your family is no exception to the rule—it’s time to recycle it or dispose it off.

The Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation has a Christmas Tree recycling program under which trees too big to chop and fit into a green waste bin can be placed next to the bin on the curbside on your regular collection day.

Residents who want to recycle Christmas trees can chop them up and put them in green waste bins or drop them off at parks and fire stations around the city, according to the city's Bureau of Sanitation.
