Gomez to Host Free Health Fair at Burbank Middle School

The community event provides residents with health services and information on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez, who represents the 51st Assembly district, is hosting a free Health and Community Fair at Burbank Middle School in Highland Park today, Saturday, Oct. 19, to provide residents with health services and information on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Open enrollment for health insurance through the state’s new health insurance exchange, Covered California, started on Oct. 1. In partnership with Congressman Xavier Becerra’s office, the health fair will offer two panel discussions on the Affordable Care Act and the opportunity for attendees to meet one-on-one with certified enrollment counselors, according to a communiqué from Gomez's office.

More than 80 health and community service providers will participate in the health fair, which will be held at Burbank Middle School, 6460 N. Figueroa St.
