The Glassell Park Improvement Association (GPIA) will host a candidates forum for Assembly District 51 on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Glassell Park Senior and Community Center.
Assembly member Anthony Portantino (D-La Cañada) will host the forum.
Confirmed candidates participating include Arturo Chavez, Jimmy Gomez, Oscar Gutierrez and Luis Lopez.

Statewide redistricting has resulted in most of Northeast L.A. and beyond now being included in Assembly District 51, including Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Mount Washington, Glassell Park, Cypress Park, Elysian Valley, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, El Sereno, Chinatown, Solano Canyon, Echo Park, and a portion of Silver Lake.

The open primary for this election is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5.

The Glassell Park Senior and Community Center is located at 3750 N. Verdugo Road behind the Public Storage building at Eagle Rock Boulevard.
