Council District 14 To Celebrate Park Funding Saturday

The celebration will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the corner of York and Avenue 50.

After this week announcing that the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Park was awarded $2.85 million to purchase a plot of land at the corner of Avenue 50 and York Boulevard, and convert that land into a public, Council District 14 is inviting community members to celebrate on Saturday morning.

From Council District 14:

Join us Saturday morning as we celebrate the awarding of proposition 84 funds to develop the York Vision Plan's park on York Boulevard and Avenue 50. Councilmember José Huizar has been working, along with the community, to develop a Vision Plan for York Boulevard and a park was one of the most popular projects community members requested.

An application for the extremely competitive Proposition 84 funding was submitted to the state and fortunately, we recently learned that a pocket park at York Boulevard and Avenue 50 was one of the projects awarded funding!

Our celebration will take place this Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9 a.m. at the corner of Avenue 50 and York Boulevard.
