A suspect in an April killing in Highland Park was arrested Wednesday in the Mount Washington area by an FBI fugitive task force, police said.
Scott Alan Lyles was taken into custody about 9:20 a.m. near Avenue 52 and the Pasadena (110) Freeway, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officers Liliana Preciado and Nuria Venegas.
Lyles was spotted by the task force on a bicycle about 7:30 a.m. A perimeter was set up, leading to the arrest near where the killing occurred.
Lyles was wanted as a suspect in the fatal shooting of 52-year-old Ruben Castaneda about 5 p.m. on April 22 near the Avenue 60 on-ramp to the Pasadena Freeway, Venegas said.
