Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division are investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday afternoon at around 3:50 p.m. near near 700 Aldama Street.
Nobody appears to have been injured at the scene, though officers are still checking area hospitals for victims, said Sergeant Edward Perez of LAPD Northeast.
The department sent out a tweet at around 3:45 p.m. on Thursday afternoon stating that a "Shooting occurred 5 min ago near Franklin High School, 700 Aldama."
"It was near the school but not involving the school," Perez said. "Two males fired a group of people. The rounds went through the door of a garage nearby."
Perez said the two males then took off on foot and drove away in what witnesses described as a newer model silver Lincoln sedan.
The tweet asks that anyone with information to contact the department through the Crime Stoppers website.
