Police sought the public's help on Saturday in locating the suspect or suspects responsible for the shooting death of a 52-year-old homeless man whose body was found near the Pasadena (110) Freeway in the Highland Park section of Los Angeles.

Ruben Castaneda stepped out of a makeshift homeless tent off the northbound freeway near the Avenue 60 onramp and had been shot multiple times about 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to a department statement.

Paramedics arriving at the location pronounced him dead at the scene. A motive for the shooting is not known.

Hollenbeck police detectives asked anyone with information regarding the shooting to call them at (323) 342-8957.

Then the story was probly wrong. It probly was not in Highland Park and maybe on the border or it was in South Pasadena. Or, maybe Hollenbeck was involved for other reasons like connections to this person.

Opposite side of freeway Hollenbeck handles. Off ramps closer to Figueroa Northeast Handles.

The investigation obviously is hampered by the fact that Hollenbeck Police Station is indeed located in far off Boyle Heights. A person could be dead by the time the police found their way there. The gangs are coming in from So. Pasadena, alright. and I have never seen a bunch of stranger looking weirdoes. They look like they were all soprano rejects. Not to be confused with the little Mexican kid. Oh 14 or so. Spray can jiggling in pock. Neon green paint stains on front pant leg. Him his pal over by the Rec Center. he is harmless... sort off.

looks like someone is sending a message to all the homeless tents that are growing like weeds along the 110.
