Police are still investigating the death of a man burned inside a vehicle in Mount Washington, and property crime spikes in Glassell Park.
Mount Washington:
Police offered no new details about the discovery of body inside a burned SUV near the 4800 block of Marmion Way in Mount Washington.
As of Friday, Detective José Carrillo could only confirm that the victim was a male and had indeed been shot before being burned in the vehicle.

Asked if crime was gang-related, Carrillo said he "was not going to speculate."
"We don't even know who the victim is yet," Carrillo said. "So, we're not going to speculate or compare it to any past incidents."

Glassell Park
Property crime increased significantly in Glassell Park in the seven days between Sept. 2 and Sept. 8, according to the Los Angeles Times crime tracking data.
According to the Times, 11 property crimes were recorded between those dates, higher than it's three-month average of 7.4 property crimes per-week.
Highland Park
It was a peaceful week in Highland Park, according to data provided by crimemapping.com. No shootings were reported between Sept. 8 and Sept. 14, however, there were two car break-ins, two automobile thefts and two robberies reported in that time.
