Motorist in Critical Condition After Parkway Rollover (Photos)

The motorist--a man in his early 40s--was extricated from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Los Angles Fire Department crews needed to extricate a man from his rolled-over vehicle on the Arroyo Seco Parkway at around 7 a.m. Thursday.

According to Fire Dept. spokesman Shawn Lenske, at around 6:59 a.m. rescue crews from Highland Park's fire station 12 were dispatched to the scene of the rollover near the York Boulevard exit of the parkway.

Lenske said the driver--a man in his early 40s--was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Lenske said crews cleared the scene with the motorist by 7:36 a.m., and by  8:17 a.m. had cleared the scene of the vehicle.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, Lenske said.

Additional crews from LAFD Stations 55, 50 and the heavy rescue unit from fire station 56 also helped in the rescue and cleanup effort.
