Memorial Created for Pedestrian Killed, James Wills

A 72-year-old man was killed when last Sunday after being hit by a vehicle. His friends and family have set up this memorial at the scene of the accident.

James Wills died last Sunday after being struck by a van on Pasadena Avenue and Arroyo Drive. He was 72-years-old. 

Wills will be remembered as a "very sweet and simple man," 

"We will miss him terribly and he should not died this way," she continued.

Family members, as well as local residents, have set up a small memorial on Pasadena Avenue in front of the , where the accident occurred. Wills can be seen in a photo with his grandchildren alongside a drawing created by them.  

The vehicle that hit Wills was driven by a 77-year-old Highland Park man, and police have said they will file vehicular manslaughter charges against the driver.

There are no signs of intoxication of the driver and blood toxicology is pending, according to police.
