Man Shot in Leg on Avenue 57 Monday

Police have yet to identify any suspects.

An 18-year old man was shot in the leg while walking on Avenue 57 on Monday at 5 p.m., according to LAPD Detective Rick Ortiz.

"The victim was walking along and heard gunshots, then he felt the bullet hit him," Ortiz said. "He was shot in the leg."

Ortiz said the department believes the shooting was gang related, but has yet to identify any suspects.

"The victim said he didn't see anything," Ortiz said. "Given that it happened while it was still daylight, it's hard to believe he didn't see anything, but he's not been willing to share any information."

For one the police don't give two bits about it, they are just as bad. Second, @ thetruth323: lay off the Call of Duty videogame for a bit, we can't go all Hiroshima on these "punks"' our community just doesn't get involved, and were quick to damn these kids instead of trying to understand why they live the way they do and do what they do. Someof them don't know or have anything else.

I'm not justifying anything or anyone, no one should ever cause any harm to anyone. However the matter of fact is everyone is quick to trash talk "gangbangers", obviously the things going on in this "hood" are terrible and aren't okay by anyone's standards. Yet people are talking about cutting off their fingers and using nuclear task forces, as bad as they might be they are someone's son, brother, cousin or dad, so how are you any better when you express the same hate n discuss for them that they put out in the streets. Just because you don't go around shooting anyone, doesn't mean your way of thinking Cant be just as detrimental to our neighborhood. Half of them are the way they are because no on cares whether they live or die. Do you have someone who cares whether you die?
