Man Injured In Fayette Street Drive-By Shooting

The victim is expected to survive.

A man gunned down while walking down a street in Highland Park this afternoon is expected to survive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The drive-by shooting occurred in the 5900 block of Fayette Street at 3:15 p.m., said Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The victim, whose name was withheld, was taken to a hospital in stable condition, Joseph said. Police did not release a vehicle or suspect description.
