LAPD Arrest Suspected Car Thief Near Monte Vista and Avenue 50
No shots were fired, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division are as of 10 p.m. on Thursday searching for an armed man in the area of Avenue 50 and Monte Vista Street, CBS Los Angeles and a local witness report.
Police encountered a possible suspect around 9:30 p.m. A foot chase ensued but the suspect remains at large.

No shots have been fired. No injuries have been reported.
An area resident e-mailed Highland Park-Mount Washington Patch to report that "helicopters, fire department, CRASH units [were] going 40-50 miles per hour down Monte Vista Street."

Update:
According to Sergeant Christopher Curry from LAPD Central Division, police were pursuing a suspected car thief from the Downtown Los Angeles area. LAPD Northeast officers helped Central Division in making an arrest near Avenue 50 and Monte Vista Street.

Elsewhere in the neighborhood, LAPD Northeast reported on their Facebook page at around 7 p.m. that they were pursuing a robbery supsect near Avenue 55 and York Boulevard.
Sergeant Wayne Guillary said a man, believed to be in possession of a firearm, was arrested near Avenue 55 at around 7:30 p.m. after a perimeter had been set up.
