Firefighters Quell Blaze at Mount Washington Home Thursday Morning

The attic fire was knocked down in under 30 minutes.

A fire damaged a residence in the Mount Washington area of Los Angeles today, but no one was injured, authorities said.

Firefighters sent to the 5214 East Raphael Ave. about 9 a.m. extinguished the blaze in 28 minutes, Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The fire started in the attic of the Mount Washington home, firefighters reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
