Fire Damages House in Highland Park

The blaze at 329 N. Kirby St. is reported at 10:05 p.m. Friday night.

A fire in a one-story house in Highland Park Friday night was knocked down in 28 minutes.

The fire at 329 N. Kirby St. was reported at 10:05 p.m., said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke when they arrived and went to work keeping the flames from spreading the attic, Scott said.

A total of 42 firefighters responded, Scott said.

No injuries were reported.

It was unclear if anyone was displaced by the blaze.
