Car vs. Metro Bus Accident Slows Traffic on Monte Vista Street

Traffic is flowing normally again on Monte Vista Street.

Traffic was slowed at the corner of Monte Vista Street and Ave. 53 for about two hours on Tuesday afternoon, as LAPD and L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. Officers attended to a three car accident, which included a Metro bus.

According to Officer Alfred Villegas, the accident occured when a motorist in a sedan traveling south along Ave. 53 drove through a stop sign and collided with an SUV traveling west on Monte Vista Street, knocking it into a Metro bus that was traveling east on Monte Vista.

The driver of the SUV, a female, was taken by an LAFD ambulance to a nearby hospital to be treated for non life threating injuries.

According to Officer Villegas, neither the driver of the sedan nor any of the bus' passengers were injured.

As of 12:30 p.m. the scene of the accident had been cleared.
