Authorities Seek Suspects in Post Office Robbery

Two men are suspected of pulling guns on a teller and making away with $800.

Authorities are seeking a pair of suspects alleged to have robbed a teller at gunpoint at the post office located at 5930 N. Figueroa St. at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1.

According to a witness report, two males standing between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches, with slender builds and wearing beanies, entered the post office at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday and robbed a teller at gunpoint, making off with about $800. 

"The two men entered the post office and asked for help filling out some forms," said LAPD Northeast Robbery Detective Jeanie Franco. "The employee opened up the safety glass, and both supects pulled out handguns."

Police were called to the post office after the suspects fled the scene.

Franco said the teller was unable to provide a description of the handgun.

The two suspects are still at large, and the case is now being handled by Inspector Ernest Williams of the United States Postal Inspection Service.
